Mar Melchizedek, OSB is the Abbot of St. Joseph of Arimathea Skete and its associated Benedictine dependencies. He is also the Metropolitan of the Holy Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Epirus and serves as Professor of Classical Languages at Meister Eckhart Divinity School.

Mar Melchizedek chose the Latin motto ex voto suscepto* as his personal motto of devotion to the holy Orthodox faith in a sincere, Christ-like manner, emphasizing that traditional Orthodox Christianity is based on one's faith and practice, not on membership in exclusive assemblies.
